A hand-poured soy candle in an authentic Schlitz Light can from 1975. Clean-burning soy wax, phthalate-free fragrance oil, 40-hour burn time. Scent: Sandalwood.

This label is sourced one at a time from the 1970s and ’80s. When it sells out, it’s gone for good.

This Candle’s History

Schlitz began in 1849 in Milwaukee, growing out of August Krug’s tavern brewery. His bookkeeper, Joseph Schlitz, took over after Krug’s death and gave the company his name. After shipping beer by the boxcar to Chicago following the 1871 fire, Schlitz earned its famous nickname "The beer that made Milwaukee famous" and by the early 1900s was the biggest brewery in the country.

Schlitz Light arrived in the mid-1970s, the brewery’s answer to Miller Lite and the source of your can. Schlitz changed hands over the years and is now owned by Pabst
