A hand-poured soy candle in an authentic Molson Canadian can from the 1970s. Clean-burning soy wax, phthalate-free fragrance oil, 40-hour burn time. Scent: Sandalwood.

This label is sourced one at a time from the 1970s and ’80s. When it sells out, it’s gone for good.

This Candle’s History

Molson is the oldest brewery in North America, founded in 1786 in Montreal by John Molson, an English teenager who’d sailed to Canada a few years earlier. The brewery still operates on its original riverside site more than two centuries later.

The Molson Canadian brand itself is newer, launched in 1959 as a fresh-tasting lager and quickly becoming a Canadian icon. Today Molson is part of Molson Coors, formed when Molson merged with Coors in 2005 — but the beer’s roots run all the way back to 1786.
