A hand-poured soy candle in an authentic Edelweiss can from the 1970s. Clean-burning soy wax, phthalate-free fragrance oil, 40-hour burn time. Scent: Sandalwood.

This label is sourced one at a time from the 1970s and ’80s. When it sells out, it’s gone for good.

This Candle’s History

Edelweiss was the pride of the Peter Schoenhofen Brewing Company, founded in 1861 in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood. Named for the white Alpine flower, a symbol of purity, it was one of Chicago’s most popular beers for decades.

After the original brewery faded in the mid-1900s, the Edelweiss name passed through other hands, including Drewrys, and was reintroduced in 1972. Your can is from that revival era, brewed by G. Heileman and billed as a fine beer for over 100 years; a nod to the brand’s long Chicago history
